Dental Veneers

Dental Veneers at Anchorage Dental AssociatesTAt Anchorage Dental Associates, we can give you the look you want quickly and easily with porcelain dental veneers. Patients can come in with crooked, uneven, or gapped front teeth and leave with teeth that make them want to smile. Dr. Charles Michael or Dr. Charles Spalding can evaluate your aesthetic dental needs and help you determine if veneers are right for you.

What are porcelain dental veneers?

Porcelain veneers are a thin shell of porcelain that we can place over the face of your teeth giving you a perfect look. There are multiple dental issues that can cause a patient to feel a lack of self confidence in their smile, many of these issues can be resolved with veneers. Dental veneers can cover teeth that are:
•  Gapped:A common dental problem is a gap between the front teeth. Braces can take care of this issue, but it can take a long period of time, with multiple office visits and expense. Dental veneers can fill in this gap, giving you a perfect smile.
•  Uneven:A visually aesthetic smile includes even teeth, the easiest way to achieve this look is with dental veneers.
•  Too large or small:Whether your teeth are visually too large or small, we can change their look, perfecting your smile. Teeth that are too large can be decreased in size, and teeth that are too small can be covered with larger veneers.
•  Stained:Some patients have unusual coloring of their teeth, this can be due to fluorosis, years of tobacco use, or even from certain medications. Dental veneers can cover the stains, giving you the bright, white smile that you want.

How are teeth veneers placed?

Dental veneers require a permanent alteration of your natural tooth structure. In order to have the room needed to place your veneer, Dr. Charles Michael or [[CLIENTEX:DOCNAME2]]] will need to reduce the front face of your natural tooth by the width of your veneer. With the natural tooth shaved, Dr. Charles Michael or [[CLIENTEX:DOCNAME2]]] will then etch the tooth, roughening the surface, to allow for better bonding with the cementing agent. With the tooth now prepared, Dr. Charles Michael or [[CLIENTEX:DOCNAME2]]] will place the veneer with the bonding agent. The bond is strengthened with the placement of a blue light to harden the cementing agent. Your veneer should last several years but will need to be occasionally checked and eventually replaced.

Preparing the tooth through reduction and etching is a normal part of the process for placing your veneers. In the future, the patient can decide to either have new veneers placed or have the teeth covered entirely with dental crowns.

Why should I get dental veneers?

We know that our patients love their dental veneers. A less expensive option than crowns, in just two appointments, our patients can have a dramatically improved look. Our patients love their dental veneers because they look like your natural teeth, in a perfect position and with perfect coloring. Veneers are resistant to staining, and are durable in strength.
