Ways of Avoiding an Oral Health Decline

Oral Health Decline Spalding Dental AK 99503-2838Many people worry about the decline of their oral health over time. They worry that as they get older, their teeth will suddenly start going downhill and fall out, making dentures inevitable. This is not the case, so long as you stick to a great oral hygiene routine and keep us a part of that routine every six months.

You need to make sure to continue to take care of your teeth each day if you want to avoid any decline in your oral health. However, you cannot do it all alone.

What to Do to Keep Your Oral Health Up

First, you need to make sure you stick with a really good oral hygiene routine. This means brushing each day when you wake up and brushing again each night before you go to bed.

Plus, it also means making sure to floss at least one of those two times that you brush. You also want to make sure that after you floss, you also rinse your mouth out really well with a great mouthwash. This helps to kill off any remaining bacteria between your teeth.

Second, you need to include us in that routine. Every six months you need to come in and have your teeth checked out. This means that you need to get a really good cleaning, and a full exam.

We will look at your teeth and look at your gums. We are looking for any early signs of a problem. If we spot it, we want to correct it now. If we wait, it could get worse.

When you go out of your way to take care of your teeth, then there should be no decline in your oral health. Call us today to get that process going so you can get a little extra peace of mind.
